Post settings

The platform offers a range of options to customize your post before publishing it. In this tutorial, we will go through the various publishing options available in the Typlog editor.

Accessing the Publish Options

To access the publish options, you need to navigate to the Admin portal and click on the 'Post' in the sidebar menu. From there, select the post you want to edit and click the title. The publish options will be displayed on the right-hand side of the editor. For mobile users and users with a small screen, click the menu icon on the upper right.

Customization Options

  • Cover

The first option you will see is the 'Edit Cover' option. This allows you to upload or change the cover image for your post. Besides your own images, we offer image stock for you to choose the cover best suitable for the post.

  • Title, Subtitle, and URL

The next option is to edit the title, subtitle, and URL of your post.

  • Content Language

You can choose the content language. This will help your audience find your content more easily and will help search engines understand your content better.

  • Content Format

You can choose between Markdown or HTML format for your post. Markdown is a simple and easy-to-use formatting language, while HTML offers more advanced formatting options.

  • Tags

Tags help your audience find related articles quickly. To set existing tags for your post, simply enter the relevant keywords in the 'Tags' field. For new tags, click the 'add' button and add new tags from there.

  • Authors

If you have multiple authors on your blog, you can set the author for each post. This is particularly useful if you need a dedicated page for each author (support varies by theme).

  • Featured Posts

You can set a post as 'Featured'. This means that the post will always display on top of your blog. To set a post as featured, simply click on the 'Featured' checkbox in the publish options (support varies by theme).

  • Post Visibility

You can choose the visibility of your post by selecting one of the following options:

    • Public: anyone can view your post.
    • Members Only: only registered members of your blog can view your post.
    • Password Protected: your post is protected by your chosen password. Users will need to enter the password to view the post.
  • Comments

You can choose the comment options for your post by selecting one of the following options:

    • Open for Comments: users can leave comments on your post.
    • Close Comments: users can no longer leave comments on your post.
    • Disable Comments: the comment section will not be displayed on your post.
  • 'In Reply To'

If your post is a reply to another page, you can fill the URL of that page in the 'In Reply To' field. This will notify the original site if the site supports it.

  • Template

You can choose from a range of templates for your post. This will change the layout and design of your post.

  • SEO

Typlog allows you to customize the SEO settings for your post. This includes the meta title, meta description, and meta image. These settings help search engines find and rank your content.

  • Content Licensing

This will determine how your content can be used by others. You can choose from a range of content licensing options, including copyrighted, CC4.0 licenses, CC0, and public domain.

  • Code Injection

If you need to add custom code to your post, you can do so by entering the code in the 'Code Injection' field. This code will be appended to the section of your post.

Save Your Customization

Once you have made all the necessary changes, click on the 'Save' button to publish your post.
